It means your hand is one tile short of mahjong. You're waiting for the last tile you need, and in many games it just never shows up.
About 15 x 16 in with shoulder-length handles. It’s sized for your mahjong card, scorecards, snacks, a book and everyday essentials rather than a full mahjong set case.
